Jasmine Dotiwala is a senior media leader with over 25 years of experience across top-tier organisations including Netflix UK, Channel 4 News, MTV, Media Trust, Kings Trust BBC Radio, and more.

A respected broadcaster, producer, director, columnist, and diversity & inclusion specialist, Jasmine has built a career at the intersection of storytelling, leadership, and talent development. At Media Trust, she created and led the award-winning London360 trainee programme, which launched the careers of over 400 diverse media professionals now embedded across the UK’s creative industries.
In 2020, Jasmine joined Netflix UK, where within the Editorial & Publishing team, she made history by co-designing and co-delivering Netflix UK’s first ever in-house training programme within the Editorial and Publishing team, where the new trainee team contributed to content strategy and inclusive storytelling across the platforms social media channels.
Jasmine continues to champion inclusion and youth empowerment, while also reporting culture and arts stories for Channel 4 News and Sky News, and appearing regularly as a panelist on Jeremy Vine on 5.
A former MTV senior producer/director with over a decade at the brand, Jasmine helped shape MTV News and spearheaded production for MTV Base and Dance. She continues to produce at the MTV Europe Music Awards annually.
Jasmine was also an established columnist with work featured in HuffPost UK, The Voice (14 years), Metro, The Source, and others. Her leadership in diversity and culture has made her a sought-after speaker and trainer, delivering inclusion-focused masterclasses at companies like Warner Music, MediaCom, and the National Film & Television School.
In 2022, she hosted the inaugural Digital Culture Awards for Arts Council England. In 2023, she received the Mary Lou Carrington Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education.

Jasmine Dotiwala is a highly respected senior media executive with over 25 years of leadership experience across some of the world’s most influential media organisations, including Netflix UK, MTV, Channel 4 News, Media Trust, BBC Radio and the King’s Trust. Her multi-faceted career spans editorial strategy, broadcast production, cultural journalism, youth media leadership, and diversity, equity and inclusion advocacy.
A results-driven TV producer, director, broadcaster, and columnist, Jasmine has a proven track record in delivering innovative, high-impact content that promotes inclusivity, drives audience engagement, and strengthens brand integrity. Known for her ability to build and lead high-performing teams, she has created internationally acclaimed TV content under tight deadlines and within complex budgetary frameworks.

Early Career and Rise Through Broadcast Leadership
After earning her BA Hons degree at Roehampton University, Jasmine began her career at Channel 4, working on The Big Breakfast before becoming a presenter on the groundbreaking ’90s youth culture show The Word. She later joined MTV Europe as a presenter and quickly rose through the ranks to become Senior Producer/Director of flagship shows such as MTV News, MTV Cribs, Diary Of, and Making the Video.
In 2000, Jasmine was appointed Senior Series Producer/Director for MTV News Specials, producing and directing major global content featuring stars such as Madonna, U2, Radiohead, Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Eminem, Usher, Busta Rhymes, and Destiny’s Child.
By 2006, she became Head of MTV Base, where she oversaw production and transformed the network’s identity by introducing new presenters, original programming strands, and a renewed focus on UK Black music culture. Under her leadership, MTV Base saw its ratings, cultural relevance, and public sector recognition significantly increase. Signature shows like Essential Mariah Carey, Essential Eminem, and Essential Dr Dre hit No.1 ratings across Europe.
Notably, her work on Diary of Jay-Z – The Global Express Tour aired on 40 MTV channels worldwide, and her “Making The Video: Mariah Carey” episode was the highest-rated MTV production globally in 2005.
Post-MTV: Expanding Leadership Across Broadcast Media
After 13 years at MTV, Jasmine returned to Channel 4 in 2009 to produce T4’s Mariah Special and the 20th Anniversary of The Word. In 2010, she joined ITV to lead One Night Stand, featuring artists like Ne-Yo, Pixie Lott, and Scissor Sisters.
By 2011, Jasmine transitioned to the BBC, contributing to BBC Children’s Development and BBC TV Music, where she focused on the development of new youth and music television formats.
Championing Diversity and Young Talent at Scale
From 2011 to 2021, Jasmine served as Head of Youth Media at Media Trust, where she was also Executive News Editor & Manager of the 360 brand (London360, UK360, Arts360). Based at the BBC’s White City campus, Jasmine created the UK’s first youth-led TV news programme that consistently spotlighted untold stories, unheard voices, and diverse talent across the capital.
Under her leadership, London360 trained and launched the careers of over 400 diverse media professionals, with support from corporate partners including Google, Channel 4, Viacom, BBC, ITV, Sky, Sony Music, and the Royal Albert Hall. Thousands of young people across the UK’s Nations and Regions have benefited from the programmes Jasmine led.
